Curious about the “VISA Win What You Buy®” contest? Please read through our frequently asked questions.
Q. What would I win? What exactly is the prize?
A. The prize consists of your Visa purchases, less returns, made during the month in which you were drawn as a winner, up to a maximum of $100,000. For example, if your account was drawn as a winner for January 2nd, you would win the purchases that were posted to your Visa account during January, up to a maximum of $100,000.
Q. How will I know if I am a winner?
A. Although there is a winner for every day of the Contest, selected entrants will not be drawn until the fourth Tuesday of the month following a Contest Month. If you are a selected entrant, the independent contest judging organization will send a prize package to you by courier at the address listed on your Financial Institutions’ records. The package will contain a Declaration and Release Form with a skill-testing question. In order to be declared a winner, you must complete the documents, correctly answer the skill-testing question, and return the documents to the contest judging organization by the indicated deadline.
Q. Once I’ve returned my Declaration and Release Form, what happens?
A. Within two weeks after the independent contest judging organization has received your completed documents, you will receive a letter from Visa Canada. This letter will either confirm that you are a winner or that you have been disqualified from the Contest (i.e., for incorrectly answering the skill-testing question).
Q. I've filled out my Declaration and Release Form and returned it to the Independent Contest Judging Organization. How can I confirm that I’ve filled out my form correctly, and that it’s been received?

Q. Can anyone win?
A. The contest is open to all Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence on the first day of the Contest Month in which they participate. And if a winner is a Visa cardholder, their Visa account must be in good standing at the time of verification.
Q. Are all Visa cards included in the Contest?
A. No. Corporate, Purchasing & Pre-paid Visa cards are excluded from the Contest.
Q. How can I enter if I don’t have a Visa card or without using my Visa card?
A. You can enter without purchase or obligation. Simply hand-print your name, address, city, province, postal code, day and evening telephone numbers, the Contest Month during the Contest Period for which you want your non-purchase entry entered in, and a 100-word or more handwritten essay on the “Value of having a Visa card”, and mail in a postage stamped envelope to:

Q. How and when will I receive my prize?
A. Approximately three to four weeks after you’ve received your letter from Visa Canada confirming that you are a winner, your prize will be credited to your VISA account that was drawn in the Contest.
